Most of The Bakersfield Californian's Bakomatic Web sites have print editions, with much or all of the content derived from the community. Using Bakomatic's Moderated Content Manager, editors queue submissions up for dated print editions, then copy those stories into Quark templates. Since most of the work is done before a print deadline approaches, a new print edition can be laid out in a day or less, depending on how much the design changes between editions.
Here are some downloadable PDFs of recent print editions from Mercado Nuevo LLC, a subsidiary of The Bakersfield Californian that runs the day to day operations for separate brands.
